Chester H. Johnson, Esq.,
410 South Michigan Ave.,
Chicago, Ill.

Dear Johnson,

I have just received your letter of the 26th inst. and I find that I answered most of your questions in the letter which I wrote you the day before yesterday.

We note what you say regarding the large Benjamin WEST, and in spite of the fact that you have not done anything with it, we appreciate your efforts, If, however, the Minneapolis Museum is not interested in it, we think that you had better return it to us.

As regards the VESTIER, we are pleased to hear of your apparent good prospects. As regards the provenance of this picture, all I can tell you is that we bought it privately solely on its merits, and I really think it is one of the most charming little paintings of this school I have seen for a long time.

We take this opportunity of telling you how pleased we are to hear that your exhibition was such a success, and with my kind regards, believe me to be

Very truly yours,
