New York City.

Dear Mr. Trevor:

Your letter regarding the painting by Gainsborough is interesting. However, Mr. Johnson does not recall the picture, and I would suggest that you send a photograph and price to us.

I am glad to be back in Chicago after a very strenuous time in New York. I had a pleasant time in Toledo and their idea is to get the classical things first; that Gothic room is very empty as you know. Every dealer in the world has already manifested himself in one way or another. Paul Reinhardt arrives there this morning with an exhibition. However, I do not think they will do much buying within the next few months.

Yours very truly,
A. E. Quest
