I have just returned to New York and among our important purchases in Europe this year is a very fine portrait of a very pretty girl by Sir Thomas LAWRENCE. This picture is now on its way here and if you feel that you would like to see it, I would be pleased to notify you as soon as it arrives.

Among our recent acquisitions, however, that have already arrived here is a very fine portrait of a woman by ROMNEY and several extremely interesting 18th century French portraits.
