Dear Mrs. Kelly:

Having recently returned from Europe, I am writing you these few lines to ask whether you would be interested to see one of the most beautiful and decorative 18th century portraits of a young child that we have ever acquired.

It is a portrait by SIR WILLIAM BEECHEY of a baby girl with light hair, wearing a white dress with a blue sash and red shoes, and she is seen in a typical English landscape.

Personally, I think it is Beechey's masterpiece, and therefore, I thought you might like to see it, particularly as the price is very reasonable, and it is a very convenient size, the canvas measuring 28" wide by 36" high.

I would be very pleased to show this to you at any time you could call in here. Looking forward to your visit, and trusting that Mr. Kelly and yourself passed a pleasant summer, believe me to be

Yours sincerely,

Mrs. Cornelius Kelly,
