Dear Sir,

We take pleasure in sending you herewith, receipted memorandum of your purchase, amounting to:  $23,500 (twenty three thousand five hundred dollars) against which you gave us your cheque on the Gerard & National Bank, of Philadelphia.

As arranged, we will deliver these to you, free of all charges, from our New-York house:

Messrs Jacques Seligmann & Co. Inc.,
705, Fifth Avenue.

As we told you, we are having a special study made of these tapestries, in order to find out, if possible, who are the personages that are represented in them.

Like all these very early tapestries, these were probably, originally, considerably larger in size.  It might be difficult, under the circumstances, to gather all the information regarding them,and to find the exact connexion
