29th January 1934

Dear Mr. Seligmann,

Thank you so much for your nice note sent just before sailing. The picture that you and I are seeking will probably hand in a Renaisanse [[Renaissance]] living room and, therefore, I may have to go without a Degas. However, anything from the 14th through the17th centuries should look well in such a room. Do no forget my prejudice against portraits. But for that I should probably have decided upon the Catena or the Bol.

We are following you East, but only as far as Bermuda and, therefore, I hope to see you when you come back.

Sincerely yours

Lila Luce
