My Dear Mr Seligman-

I am obliged to you for your letter and the brochure on the Carthusians which arrived a day or so ago. I am giving the matter much thought but will not make a decision for a time. You will of course hear further from me.

In going through the Catalogue of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection shown at the National Gallery in London in 1961 I came across a painting with a striking resemblance to our "St Jerome". It is by Rueland Frueauf, the Elder and Shows the Saint facing left with the lion's head on his knee, a hand on the lion's head and a book open on the lectern. Jerome is in a cardinals robe & is wearing a cardinals hat. In my scanty library I can find no information concerning Frueauf and I am wondering if you
