General,
I have the honor to inquire whether the officers connected with this Bureau have been furnished with lists of the official newspapers of the War Department, and with the regulations relative to advertising and job printing? A number of accounts have been submitted by them for publishing notices in newspapers, but none of the publications except those issued directly from your office, have been reported at time of their first appearance as required by paragraph 1 of the regulations.  You will please to notify them, that all accounts of this nature will be suspended
