In answer to your note of the 12th. inst. I hereby state that Mr. B Tambling has at various times privately used his influence to break up my school and from which cause I had intended to leave the city but was advised by friends to remain. 
In Sunday School last Sabbath and at the Church, during the absence of both Genl. Gregory & the Superintendent he, advised "the people to take their children from my school giving as a reason therefor that I was irreligious: the consequence is that my school from being 60. in number has been reduced to 10.
