I have the honor to report the following

I have visited since my last report Hempsted and Millican also the country north of Millican for about 50 miles stopping at nearly every plantation & neighborhood on the east side of the Brazos river

At Hempsted there has been a change of Sub Com and the present incumbent is anxious that there should be a school established at once There is however no suitable room & a building will have to be put up by the "Freedmen" At Millican the walls of the house 26 x 40 are up and the building will be completed in a few days The Teachers are comfortable & in good spirits & prospect for a large school flattering

At Col Wilsons 18 miles above Millican there is a call for a Male Teacher The Col a very wealthy farmer says he will pay the whole expense of the school & build the house This week he sends his teams after the lumber He will also take the Teacher into his house to board Would also pay the person going there extra for keeping the books of the Plantation In the neighborhood of Dr Haydens some 10 miles above the last mentioned place the Dr & 3 other Planters will oversee the building of a school
