Other Schools might be organized through the coming Summer & Autumn but I do not think it can be done at present  There is difficulty in getting boarding places for Teachers except at Public Houses and there the prices are high, twenty to thirty dollars per month in Specie. I do not think there are many who would openly oppose Colored Schools, and as yet I have heard but few express a desire that the Freedmen be educated. Even [[strikethrough]] among [[/strikethrough]] those who profess to be its friend, assist us only by not opposing us. The mass of the people do not want to educate the Freedman - do not want to elevate him, but he will be, both, in spite of them.
