General
My absolute dependence on myself and on my own resources prevents me at this time making the full monthly report I otherwise would, Until yesterday noon I was entirely in the dark. The Adjt's letter of the 19th Inst satisfies me. I have paid all expenses as yet, Since the 15th Jan I have only seen my house and family twice, and only for five minutes each time, I have only asked to be put on a footing with the most favoured office, Be that what it might, I also said I was going to do the best with the means at my command. I have done so, and can hereafter make a fair showing, My report herewith enclosed is truth - pure and unblemished, Do me the favour to have it published in Blakes Bulletin, and risk the consequences, you need not be known in the matter - I have a battle to fight and win, and ask this method to enable me to do so - I will have it
