she has left the town, I herewith return her appointment. The freedmen are all anxious to learn, and if during the winter, the will have the means for paying the teacher, all the schools will be crowded.
The teachers who have to pay $20.00 for board, are at present hardly able to support themselves, and will not be able to pay the rent of School houses from $15.00 to $20.00 monthly. I understand however that Congress has appropriated money for that purpose.
