Sir:
In conformity with "Cicular 20. Hd Qrs Bu RF&AL State of Texas. Galveston, August 31st 1866." I have the honor to submit the following Report,
From all the information I can glean there may be, one or two indifferent schools in the country for white children.
This town [the only one of any consequence in the County] has no School, if a building can be obtained it is proposed to open a School for White Children about the [[?]] of October.
There are no Schools in this County for freedmen. The people are opposed to them or the freedmen evince no desire
