P.S. I would remark that Nearly every One of my schollars began with the alphabet and some of them read simple sentences quite well and answer readily simple questions in Mental Arith, and Geography

I find they can learn as well considering their chance as other children  we have much opposition yet but with Gods help and such agents as Genl Howard and Gregory, we will break it down and show the human mind in its true light whether it is in a white body or not.

One word about the General G. he is a Lion or terror to our Opponents but the Colored people will not forget him and we all unite in praying that he may have a wise and understanding heart to use his power aright, and that God will bless his labors and all who labor under him for the improvement of the human family
