Lieut Wheelock

I think that I can conscientiously state that the "general progress" of my school has been good. The scholars are bright and interesting and the only "hindrance" to the work of general education here seems to be the poverty of the people. They say and truthfully I think that they are very poor and so they think they cannot afford to attend school.

I have ten free pupils and the remaining thirty four have nearly all paid the full tuition fee. They all seem very much interested in school and show a good capacity for learning.

Very Respectfully,
Mary C Fitch
