I have to get the rent out of the Freedmen if I can if not, I must pay it myself. I wish you could make some arrangement to have a house built, as the Freedmen are verry slack in doing anny thing in regard of Building. They are behind with me for this month $80.00 which if I can get the half of it at all, I shall be satisfied. they all tell me they will pay, but that does not suit me, as so manny of them leave here on short notice; besides if I send anny of the children home if I do not get my pay in advance I will loose it I have not time to write fully all I wish to say at present as the express is about cosing All is respectfully submited Yours Truly
