I have used the best judgment I could in this matter in the selection of A Lot. I find the best location on the south side of the Rail Road Dept. about 400 yds. the lot contains from 1/2 to 2 Acres. I can be bought for $500. Payable one half down, the balance at Christmas. As this was more Ground, than the Church or School wanted, to obtain the Lot, I have agreed to pay for 1/2 an acre for myself. Another man will take 1/2 an Acre. This will still leave 1/2 an 1/2 acre for the Church and a School House, which is deemed sufficient. They have made a start to collect some money to buy Lumber, & pay one half on the 1/2 acre there are Two Hundred subscribed & I think I can get $100 cash in about 3 weeks to pay for Lumber. And so start the House. They have made me their Treasurer. I shall do all in my power to have the House put up, as also one for myself or the Teacher who may come. Pray do Help in if in your Power with some pecuniary Aid, for I fear they are too poor at present [[strikethrough]] to poor [[/strikethrough]] to raise the funds. Mr. Honey thought he could raise from 100. to 200. dollars. Please write soon. Verry respectfully Yours,
James G. Whann.
