School doing as well as can be expected.
Most of the people have their children bound out. I was here 12 days before I obtained a house.
My rent is $20.00 a month for buildings. Have credited most $40,00 this month;- not so much of a chance as I thought.
However I shall stay here awhile.
The people are trying to keep the Colored Race from getting an education as much as possible.
I keep a straightforward course and am gaining ground.
I have a School every Sunday morning, the house is well filled, but I have not got things into Sabbath School shape as yet.
The Colored people in this part of the country are more ignorant than in other places. Only 4 in the first Reader.
