Sir

I have the honor of making the report for May Our school is increasing some and is progressing finely. But we met with more opposition every day our school house has been broken open several times and the books throwed out doors etc We can not put up maps or any thing of the kind as they will be tore down, we try to mind own buisness but it is a very hard task to learn to take their slurs and being hooted as as we pass the street with out resenting it.
I think we will yet have trouble hear, There is a school started across the river that has taken away about 25 of our schollars. It is taught by one of our schollars a man he came to us about 2 weaks ago. Mr Coleman is sick and has been for several days during that time I took charge of the school. I like the employment very much it is a pleasure for me to teach them. We are very much in need of those books we sent to you for have been looking for them for several days We have 12 schollars that are learning the Multiplication table and are doing very well we would have a class in mentle
