E.M. Wheelock
Supt. Freedmens Schools
Galveston Texas

I have the honor to report that my small day school has made rapid progress and is an interesting school. My night school has dwindled to about ten regular scholars who are anxious to have it continue

The principal hindrance want of a suitable room still exists A good room is promised by the first of July. Under existing circumstances the school is closed for a week or more

As this school is small and likely to remain so through the summer I would respectfully request a transfer to a larger school and the appointment of a female teacher to this place

The teacher will find a hearty cooperator in Capt Allen Agent of the Bureau here.

I am Sir
Very Respectfully
Your Obedient Servant
