E.M. Wheelock Esqr.

There is considerable falling off in my school this month as you see by present report sickness is doing its work among the children and death has snatched some away from among us. And some have so far to walk that it is impossible for them to come in the heat.

Expect my school to be quite small the next two months in account of cotton picking.

I'm glad to report two of my pupils qualifying themselves for teachers and are making rapid progress.

My brother has not arrived yet and the night school is yet unopened. The people are very nervous, but I am afraid to venture my health. Probably later in the season I can do so with safety.

Have made no collections this month. Consequently out of funds will permit in a few days again.

Respectly [[respectfully]],
S.C. Harris
