E.M. Wheelock Esqr.
There is considerable falling off in my school this month, as you see by present report sickness is doing its work among the children, and death has snatched some away from among us. And some have so far to walk that it is impossible for them to come in the heat
Expect my school to be quite small the next two months on account of cotton picking
Am glad to report two of my peoples qualifying themselves for teachers and are making rapid progress.
My brother has not arrived yet and the night school is yet unopened The people are very Anxious but I am afraid to venture my health. Probably later in the season I will do so with safety.
Have made no collections this month. Consequently out of funds will permit in a few days again
Respectfully
S.C. Harris
