Columbia August the 16th /66 Rev. E. W. Wheelock Dear Sir Yours of August the 10th is just at hand I would hav Sent my July report befour now but I lost some time inconciquece of Sickness but the time is now made up your suggestions respecting my School I think are verry good The Poverished condition of present school is in conciquece of the Cotton worm and charges that will be A gainst them. the Freedmen by the proprietor of the Plantation if all is allowed there will be nothing left for me I believe there can be a paying School made up at Columbia but it is my present intention to move from here to Williamson County just as soon as I can arrange my bisness so that I can if the health of my Family permits I hav now clowsed my school at Col. Basses. Planttation if I should not be able to move I would like to get a good paying School at Columbia I would hav A hard time of it here as [[/strikethrough]] preaching and[[strikethrough]] Teaching are scouffed at and the Freedman hav a bad chace to support [[strikethrough]] eather [[/strikethrough]] A Teacher Verry Respetfully John E.
