The Freedmen's school of which the enclosed is a true report is taught by one of my old servants Burril Davis, whom I consider competent to teach  the rudiments of spelling &c. He is himself learning  as time progresses will be able to carry his pupils to some of the other branches such as Arithmetic- writing and defining. I cheerfully give him assistance when called upon & examine his scholars a day every week
