A short time since I sent up a request to be furnished with the proper blanks in order make out my school Report but as I have not received them as yet I take the liberty to report by letter.

You will notice by Mr. Rice's report that he has a very small school for a place of this size, but this is owing entirely to the want of a good teacher. Mr. Rice, the present teacher, is a very good man, and interested in his work, but he has not the first qualification as a teacher, and the freedmen have become disgusted and lost all respect for him, and do not take an interest in the school, yet they are anxious to have a good school.
