REMARKS: During the time this School as been in progress, which is only three weeks the Scholars have made some advancement in their studies, and considerable improvement in their manners.
The parents of the children are all anxious their children should attend school, and improve.
The greatest difficulty in the way of rapid progress, is the fact that they have never been properly governed, at school or home. The Catholics had some of them in a school a short time but as they did not readily embrace their religion they were left to do as they pleased. Those who can read learned mostly by their own efforts since the war with such aid as they could pick up here and there, without any regular teachers
