Sir

In reply to your letter of February 18th 1868 in relation to a piece of land Wm Parker said you could build on and have the use of, and all you could make for two years. I would state that if you have had the use of the land for two years, you ought to give it up or rent it from Wm Parker, he said you could have all you could make for two years, and I do not see by what right you claim to hold on to the land for any longer time than he gave you permission, P [[Peeter? Peeler?]] the Justice of the Peace, acted in this case, in ordering you to leave the land. As the Law directs in cases where persons hold over for a longer time then they have rented land, Mr Peeler states in a letter to me, that your Fodder & shucks were not taken to pay the cost of this [[Luit?]], and that you promised to leave the premises if they would give you three or four days to do so, and that Parker said he would give you a week; and that you have not left the premises yet. To save yourself further trouble and expense in this case, I would advise you either to leave the premises or to rent the same from Wm Parker

Very Respectfully
Your Obd't Servt
