the Wardens of the Poor of Cleveland County is one and the same person, he is also Clerk and Master in Equity and has his Office in the Court House as Shelby Cleveland County, I respectfully request that the letters of Thos Williams be not allowed to pass unnoticed. I make this request as a matter of duty - entirely void of any personal feeling, for I do not know him, and never had any correspondence with him - but if the Government and its Officers are to be cooly and deliberately put at defiance, by the Civil Officers, without any provocation, and nothing said about it, you can better imagine that I can describe what a state of things it would soon bring about, I inclose herewith a letter from the deputy Clerk of Cleveland County Court showing the official position that Thos Williams occupies in Cleveland Co.
