Stoughton February 25th 1945 Dear Doris This is a very sunny day + not as cold as usual around 25° this morning she has been to church + says that the snow has melted during our three warm days + that tomorrow she may go down to do some errands if the weather remains as it is today. There is plenty of snow left on the ground still. I hope by this time you have got my letter with the paper clipping inside. every where she goes they mention having seen my birth day announcement. I don't know where Lester Gay got it. he never came here for information + Maude Blake wasn't at the party. who informed him is a conundrum. he hit it + no mistake, no one can find any fault though. The next Thursday she gave a card party. had four, Lydia French, Mrs. Burnham the one who bought Garetas house, + Blanche Hammond. while they played cards in the sitting room, I went into the kitchen + went to sleep, on the lounge + snored. I had not slept very well the night before, so there was nothing else for me to do. they didn't know they thought it was an auto backing [[?]] + Mrs. Barry didn't tell them it was my snoring just as well.
