Stoughton February 15th 1948 -

Dear Doris,

Its [[it's]] a cloudy morning not entirely cleared from yesterdays [[yesterday's]] storm. but am thankful our prophesied storm of the day before went out to sea we had enough here without it. a long time before we get rid of this. & hope we dont [[don't]] have a flood.

I got up this morning fully rested. she went to meeting last night as it was the beginning of Lent & so being alone I went off to bed & slept pretty sound all night. didn't even hear her when she came in Mr Reynolds took them they had a wonderful speaker she said. so they got home around 10. she says he throughly [[thoroughly]] enjoys these chouire [[choir]] rehearsals I know he is in love with Norma Layney & she makes fun of him. he takes it all in earnest so. her husband is in the army. she is a good singer & Mrs Barry is very much in love with her but I dont [[don't]] like her.

I begun my waiste [[waist]] yesterday cut it out & partly stitched up the seams. being a stormy day it gave me something to do. I had all my other sewing done. it was no trouble to do those sheets as I sewed them all on my machine.
