getting into any deeper snow & they had to back the car clear down to Prospect Street. I watched them clear out of sight as I was just out of bed up in my room.

We called up Laura Jebhardt on the phone. it seems she slipped on her rubber mat & sprained her ankle & she is up to her house all alone. Norma has gone with her Soldier husband, & Bill has gone away with his consert band (Symphony) to be gone several days. he broke down & cried at the idea of having Laura alone in her condition but here was no way of course out of it, so when she called her up yesterday Mrs Barry said she had hard work to get her to stop talking. she finally told her she had got to make something for dinner and put an end to her talking. she said if it wasn't for Cohen, she didn't know what she woul [[would]] do he comes up & does her chores & sees to the hens some distance from the house & guess Bill saw to it that he should do such things before he went away.

Well I will put this letter out as its most time the Postman was coming now hope you get it soon  Ma

will be glad you will send along the cloth for Doris some slips as it will give me something to keep busy on the dark days of winter
