Early this morning I was out sweeping a path from the front door. the snow was very light & easy to sweep, it was fun to do it.

It would now seem nice to see the sun once more. it has not been out for three days, since last Thursday, when it shone out good & bright.

We have to hear from Washington to get our Stoughton news. it seems that man who tried to break into McDonalds house was the same one who nocked at Gertrude Malcombs house & after asking if she was all alone in the house, he told her he was a stick up man & wanted all the money she had in the house. She quickly shut the door & called the police. one came here & rattled our glass door & Mrs Barry saw him walking away. now she has a bottle of ammonia siting by her on the table, after I go. off to bed. one dose of that in the face will be sufficient she thinks. its not safe to sit with our doors unlocked day or night, these times. they are mostly teenage boys who are doing these things. what the next generation are going to be God only knows.

I hope you are having warmer weather down there. it will seem good to get rid of all this snow. it may go off by rain, if it does it will make slippery going. love Ma
