Dear Doris

For nothing better to do I think writing a letter to you may be the proper thing not knowing when it may reach you the mails are so uncertain since the holidays.

Last night we had a light snow storm but it cleared to day & will soon disappear. I was in hopes the rain that followed would take it away but it only made it crusty. The wind blows & it may bring on some more cold weather. just 30° early this morning.

I hope you enjoyed your christmas. & had lots of presents. you are so generous to all your friends. I had lots of x mas cards. one from Amy didn't reach me 'till two days after the x mas holidays. your letters have been a week late but I knew we should get them some time so didn't worry.

We always remember our post office clerk he is so good to take our letters to mail, even comes over to get them when he does not bring us any mail. I must get this in the door so he can take it when he comes this morning. so you get it this week if possible.
