[[note]] Bertha Reynolds came home to her mothers to celebrate x mas Saturday & had to go back Sunday the next day. was going to celebrate the holiday with some other people I believe Ma 30° Monday [[/note]] Stoughton December 17th 1944 Dear Doris We are having nice sunny days but cool weather. Friday it was cool & cloudy with a snowy feeling air. it cleared in the afternoon & since then has been pleasant. so guess the snowstorm went bye [[by]] us. I was glad it did for we havn't had any snow yet to ammount [[amount]] to anything. She went to church & sang an anthem & it passed off very nice. Frank Toomey & Reynolds are going to Brockton to a big sing to day all the choir are going & they wanted Mrs Barry to go also but as they were not going to get home till late at night, she refused to go so I am glad she did. as she is going to Brockton tomorrow- thats enough. Pete McGarvey is used up. he has worked too hard on his land & broke a blood vessel, so they took him to the hospital. its a pity it hadn't happned before he cut down that apple tree (if it had to be.) I am sorry it happened he is too ambitious & this should be a lesson to him. I though of your cutting down trees last summer & dragging them home. you shouldn't have done it. it was running a great risk.
