Stoughton October 26th 1944

Dear Doris

The storm cleared off today it rained during the night quite a little. & is cloudy by spells to day [[today]]. we may have colder weather to night [[tonight]]. I was glad it rained there were so many fires & on account of the leaves it seemed dangerous.

She has just gone down to the Red Cross with Edith Rose to make Bandages. so as there was nothing else to do I am writing your letter. there is nothing much to write about, as I dont [[don't]] go any where [[anywhere]] to get news & see but few people. my plants are about all the comfort there is & they are doing well the geraniums are blossoming & so are my begonias. I think that plant food is doing fine (those Vigorotablets.) and since the leaves have fallen from the trees, they are getting more sunshine setting them out doors [[outdoors]] gives them more life the out side [[outside]] air is good for humans also every day [[everyday]] I try to go out side [[outside]] even these
