it at last. you worked so hard to preserve it & get the grapes. & were so fond of it.

Georgie Perkins came to see us Sunday Afternoon & she said the fire report we heard was for a fire up dry pond to Dr Packards. he left his place to his housekeeper who was a colored woman & she has turned it into a school for negro children & Jennie Dimack is teaching them & another protestant assistant. what do you know about that? your speaking about Dr Packards blue morning glories made me think of it. its a wonderful place but I should not enjoy the negroes they have there

The day before yesterday we went over to the barn to get some of her warm under clothes that were in her trunks & to find her revolver she hid before she went away. she found it after she came home away back in her bureau drawer. I noticed the little trees were looking very thrifty since our recent rains & tornado. That old wild cherry tree it only took a large part off but left most of it standing. it also took part of my white lilac under the dining room window & blew over the drain that carries the water from the pipe onto the lawn. so all I had to do was to set it back under the pipe, so the water will run away from the pipe that is on the house. nothing this time injured thank the Lord
