Today was the day fixed to put out our papers. So I tied them up in the afternoon & this morning just before 8 O'clock put them out on the side walk & before noon the town truck took them away. So I was very thankful to do a little for the Army. They are in need of paper they say. My little begonia is doing nicely, it has buds in every branch. I guess Lauries is a good place to get plants. they say he is cheaper in his prices than at any other greenhouse being a little out of the village. Since the rains our lawn has started to grow grass again.

The Ballantines spoke of Doris & how well she mowed the grass on the lawn, so different from any of the boys we could employ. A number of people spoke of the change that had been in her this past year. she wasn't the same child, a great improvement had been made in the last year of her life.

I went over to the old place to see if there was any damage done by the hurrycane [hurricane]& found none & picked up the apples you spoke of also picked them up under the tree where we get them all summer no one else gets them. Pete has enough in
