Gertrude Ballantine is taking her vacation at Cape Cod. it has been cold & stormy all the time she has been gone & of all the places that would be cold, the Cape would be the worst. its always cold there where we are roasting every where else.

It is very dark here I am trying to write my letter. have just had my dinner of fried fish & canned peas with baked rice pudding for desert. a good dinner.

I hope if Amy & the Leonards go to Onset they have different weather. I went over to the barn one day this week & saw the little trees they were looking thrifty. Anna Cranes house has been improved since they let it. looked very much better to me. they have made it to let into two tenements. I hope you get rested & are coming home on your vacation soon. Ma
