& body. now what will become of Charley & Gladys? three sudden deaths. Percy, George Lynch & now Alice Wentworth. she was never content up with Charley & Gladys she longed for the open space. guess she has got it where she is now. she came here three weeks ago to have her feet fixed over at Winnies & it was all she could do to get up the steps in at the front door. we thought it was her feet. now guess it was some thing besides feet that ailed her. she was looking pretty well only said her eyes were going back on her. had neglected them too long. Today its a little cooler & I am going to do my walking. I feel more like work. heats takes all the life out of me.

She has gone to church. there was a man come yesterday & she sold him some things over in the barn. she was glad to get rid of them.

There is another man he bought something here in the house & when he comes again I am going to sell him some old lamps to get rid of them in the cellar way. no use to keep them. he was an honest man & would have taken them when he was here before. I was sorry I didn't sell them. Little Roger Swanson was at church with his mother today. he said to Mrs Barry "you tell Mrs Holmes that the frosts took my strawberries, now I cant send any up to her this year". he gave us a basket last year. remember poor child. well he loves us & always remembers to be generous. love Ma.
