Stoughton June 13th, 1944

Dear Doris

We are having a nice cool day with lots of sunshine & plenty of air in the cool quarter. I have been quite busy to day & will write my letter as I am here alone. she has gone down town to do a few errands & to call on Cora Brock whom she used to know in her childhoods days. she lives near the beauty Parlor where she has an engagement around 4 O'clock.

I have just hung out a little washing. things dry quickly on the back line to day so I take advantage of it.

Our last rain made my lawn look green it was fast drying up for want of rain. we got no frosts on our high land during that cold snap but guess some things suffered in exposed places I read of it in the paper in the near towns it
