Stoughton June 10th 1944

Dear Doris

We are having a cool day to day. last night we had a thunder shower at about the time my first nap was on. so the first part of it I must have missed & am glad. it poured good, the earth got a good soaking. it was very much needed as every thing is dry. it will take a good many showers to do any good.

Mrs Barry is staying home from church & has missed her paper to read. the Ballantines were to get it when they went to church this morning, so guess they forgot it. as they have not shown up with it yet.

Gladys was here yesterday to see us. the rest of her family were coming but Alice her mother, was sick during the night & didn't feel like coming. it seems Gladys & Myrtie are going up to Vermont on a vacation. Myrtie for the summer & Gladys is taking her vacation she intends to stay a week or so. she stayed there at Alices to supper & was going home on the bus. she said Alice was still substituting & will probably till the end of the term. & she gave
