Dear Doris

We are having a cold Sunday, such sudden changes in temperature are very much in the order. Wednesday was our hottest day, then Friday we found the wind had changed & it seemed nice and comfortable. Saturday was cooler & Sunday one needs all their winter clothes to keep warm. a frost was predicted last night. so I was glad I hadn't set out my tomatoes. although we called up Turner to come up & set them out yesterday. we are in need of rain May was a terrible dry month up in New England. & we did not even have our usual May storm. I hope we get rain soon this dry weather is very bad for fruit & they even flooded the cranberry bogs, to save the crop.

We are going to have some lobsters for our dinner. we got them Friday alive & boiled them yesterday & got them out of the shell & put them on ice. I am looking forward for my dinner. they will taste mighty good as I am very fond of them. just plain lobster no salad for me, with bread & butter.

Both George & Pete are planting their garden to day. it will have to be watered with their hose, they are lucky to have it so near their house.
