Dear Doris

Our thundershower came to us last night but not very near. so today it is cool & nice. everything is growing & my flowers are blooming. the quince bush is in its prime. the lilacs are in bloom. also the red bud never looked so pretty. forsythias are going bye. flowering almond bushes are all out & spice bush bloomed. Alice & Charley were over Friday afternoon to have Winnie see to her feet. then Gladys & a girl came later the next day to see us. they went away after & Gladys said the young girl worked at the same place she did. I was glad when they went away, for I get very tired at night & things bother me to hear what they say.

I have put my tomato plants on the porch where they get some air & plenty of sun. they look very much better & I hope in a little while they can be set out in the ground. there where Mr Turner made the little bed for them, in back of the pigeon house. the sun lays there most all day & dogs wont run over them. or young ones meddle with them.

That little porter apple tree is alive. I find it is budded for I just went out
