by Mex. R.R.  The road passes down through the lower foothills to about 5 or 6 miles above Paso del Macho at about 1500 ft. where the hills end & a long slope begins leading thence to the coast.  On the open slope down to an altitude of 500 or less feet are scattered great numbers of boulders from a few inches to ten or more ft. in diameter.  From a distance these have the appearance of glacial drift but whether this is so or not is uncertain as I had no chance to study them.  All of this lower slope from the
