The two weeks I spent Italy were glorious. How can one country have so many beautiful things in it? To say nothing of Florence alone. Venice is quite the most beautiful fantastic fairy tale! Those beautiful Gothic palaces, and that beautiful and curious bit of the past, St Marks.
But I could go on like this for pages so perhaps it is wiser to stop now. It's rather a good thing to discover Italy when one is a bit mature, instead of looking at it from the blasé and sophisticated teens, for the first time. I Bologna was a fascinating place with those lovely colonnaded buildings. I am sorry to say I don't think I will be coming to New York before Christmas as we have spent all our money abroad and now I have to economise for a while. But perhaps you will be coming to Montreal? Let me know before you arrive if you can.
London was so gay I was sorry to leave, it is really the most amusing city from a social point of view don't you think? Or do you prefer Paris? We spent three weeks in Paris and it was great fun.
The Vistas in Paris always thrill me, it's a beautifully planned city. Well, this is a very meandering sort of letter, but I don't write letters with ease.
