Dear Sir,

[[strikethrough]] Dear m [[/strikethrough]]

Thanks for your letter from oct.18.

Enclosing I send you 3 photographs of "the sleeping child" in marble signed v. d. Bogaert 1699. V.d. Borgaert called himself in France Jacques Desjardins & was borne in Breda 1671 and died in Paris 1716 and worked for Louis XIV.

You will find quite a similiar statue in seize and everything at the Museum für Kunst & Gewerbe in Hamburg.

It is presumed ,I mean the signed statue, was made for Versailles and that the one, which is not signed in Hamburg, was made as a copy for the castel of the duke-elector in Bonn, where Desjardins had a workingstand about 1714,and in this time the white child in Hamburg was made.

This beautiful piece is in the hands of a dealer in Holland, who offered it to us,but we did not yet buy it. Per haps it is just what you are looking for,and we would be glad if we could help you to purchase it.

As we are going to see our children in Canada for Xmas, x we shall be in New York from december the 21s to dec. 23 d and woul be very glad if we could se you one of these days. Before we sail back to Europe we shall also be a day or two in New York. We sail whith the Leonardo da Vi Vinci who leaves New York January the 9 th. x sailing from Germa dec 12th.

Yours sincwerely
