of earth to give a smoother surface.- This platform is about 75 yds across & from 2 to 5 feet deep according to the inequalities of the surface on which it is built. On the E. & W. sides of this are rude pyramids with flat tops built up also of rough stone with the surface smoothed down with a soft mortar. These pyramids are about 35 ft. high and with a roughly rectangular base about 20 yds. along each side. A rough [[strikethrough]] & very narrow [[/strikethrough]] broad flight of very shallow stone steps lead up to the summit of each of these pyramids from the platform. Just south of the platform is a smaller pyramidal structure and still farther to the south on the edge of a steep slope overlooking the plains of Tehuantepec to the sea is another pyramid with a broader flat top. This latter has a set of stone steps leading down from among a group of ruined houses and then across a raised stone platform, walled on both sides, to the steps which lead up to the summit. Near this pyramid are many ruined house-walls along the edge of the bluff which is smoothly faced up here with rough flat stones for 50 & 75 ft. in places all about the first part of the descent so to render the approach impossible here from below.
