Dear Mrs. Parker:

Please excuse the delay in acknowledging your fine introduction which you were kind enoughto write for Esther's catalogue. Both she and I appreciated your taking time off from a busy schedule to do this for us. The opening went off very well. There were about 250 or 300 people for the tea on Sunday. On Monday Esther gave a short lecture to a group of sixth grade children at the gallery.

She and I have become quite expert now at frame-making (with the aid of plastic wood, I hasten to add). Perhaps we could now qualify as framers for Mr. Seligmann. The show looks stunning, and I am very proud to have it here in the gallery.

I am sending to you today under separate cover several of the catalogues, and I do hope that you will find it possible to visit the gallery while Esther's exhibition is on display. Again let me thank you for the introduction.

Sincerely,

Russell B. Thornton
Director

P.S.: I do hope that by now the cold is much better -- or has even disappeared.
