State of Texas } Articles of agreement made and entered into this 10th day of February 1867 between 1st Lieut Jas Hutchison V.R.C. Sub. Asst. Comr of the first part, and J.W. Park, of the Town of Columbia, State of Texas of the second part. Witnesseth:-

That the said Sub. Ass't. Comr for and in behalf of the United States of America, and the said J.W. Park have mutually agreed and by these presents do mutually agree to and with each other, as follows. 
 
1st The said J.W. Park shall furnish all the necessary labor, lumber, nails &cc, for the repair of a room in a certain building in the Town of Columbia, State of Texas to be used as a freedmens School. The work to be done in a good substantial manner to the satisfaction of the Sub. Ass't. Comr, and within ten days from the date of this Contract.

2. Upon the completion of the repairs as above set forth, the Sub. Asst. Comr for and in behalf of the United States agrees to pay the said J.W. Park the sum of ($64) Sixty four Dollars in funds furnished by the United States for distribution.

3rd No Member of Congress, Officer or Agent of the government or any person employed in the public service shall be admitted to any share herein, or to any benefit which may arise herefrom,
